In the vast, lawless galaxy of Star Wars Outlaws, not every shiny upgrade is just for show. Some are as essential as a hyperdrive motivator on a Corellian freighter. Among these non-negotiable enhancements is a particular blaster modification that lets you do something truly satisfying: blow holes in walls. Now, why would a respectable scoundrel need such a thing? Simple. To get to the good stuff on the other side, of course! This isn't just about brute force; it's about opportunity, loot, and completing quests that would otherwise be as sealed as a Hutt's vault. The journey to acquire this wall-cracking prowess is known as the Gunsmith quest, and it's a rite of passage for any aspiring outlaw.
How To Kick Off The Gunsmith Quest
So, you've got ND-5 on board your trusty ship, the Trailblazer, and the stars are finally yours to explore. After your first hyperspace jump, the galaxy map lights up with three new main story missions: The Safecracker, The Droidsmith, and The Heavy. ND-5, playing the role of a cautious mentor, might suggest you start with The Safecracker. But let's be honest, who listens to droid advice all the time? You can pick any of the three. The key is to finish just one of them. Once you do, ND-5 will ping you with a message that's essentially the galactic equivalent of "Come here, I've got a present for you."

Return to the Trailblazer and head to your personal armory—the blaster workbench. ND-5 will be waiting there, probably looking smug. A quick chat later, and he hands over a bundle of parts. What are they for? Why, to build the legendary Power Module, the very thing that will turn your blaster from a peashooter into a portable demolition charge.
Assembling Your New Toy: The Power Module
With the parts in hand, it's time to get crafty. Interact with the blaster workbench. You'll see the Power Module option highlighted, practically begging to be installed. Select it, and a new menu opens. Here, you just need to hold down the designated button or key to assemble and equip this game-changing gadget. It's simpler than fixing a faulty motivator, and far more explosive. Once the installation is complete, a notification pops up: the Gunslinger quest is done. Congratulations! Your blaster is now officially wall-certified.
The Art of Controlled Demolition: Breaking Walls
Now for the fun part. You'll start noticing certain walls look different—they're gray and orange, with prominent cracks spider-webbing across their surface. These are your new targets. But you can't just fire willy-nilly. There's a technique to this:
-
First, press and hold the button you use to switch between blaster modules. This activates the Power Module mode.
-
Aim at the weak wall.
-
Hold down the fire trigger to charge up a powerful explosive bolt.
-
Release! A satisfying explosion later, and you've got yourself a brand-new doorway.
Step through the hole to claim your reward. What's inside? Could be credits, crafting materials, or rare schematics. It's always a surprise!
Putting It To The Test: The Weak Walls Intel
ND-5 isn't one to give you a new toy without a test drive. Right after the upgrade, he shares intel on two specific locations where you can try out your blaster's new talent. To find these, open your Journal and navigate to the Intel section. Scroll down, and you'll find an entry labeled Weak Walls Intel. This marks two points of interest on your map:
| Planet | Location | Key Landmark |
|---|---|---|
| Akiva | Mount Selasa | Northern region, at the mountain's base. |
| Tatooine | Great Chott Salt Flat | About 1 km north of the Wayfar outpost. |
Akiva: The Mountainous Challenge
Your destination is Mount Selasa in the northern wilds of Akiva. From the city of Myrra, hop on your speeder and head north, past the Karaba Foothills. When you're roughly 130 meters from the intel marker, ditch the speeder. The path upward isn't for vehicles. Look for a spot to use your grappling hook to start climbing.
Follow the winding path until you see climbable walls on your right, subtly marked with yellow paint. Scale these all the way to the summit, where you'll find the wreckage of a unfortunate starship. The breakable wall is conveniently located on the far side of this wreckage. Be warned: the local Venga wildlife might not appreciate you trespassing, so keep your newly upgraded blaster handy for more than just walls.
Tatooine: A Desert Treasure Hunt
Ah, Tatooine. If you're landing here for the first time, you'll touch down at a dusty outpost called Wayfar. From there, the intel marker at the Great Chott Salt Flat is one kilometer to the north. If you've been busy on Tatooine and your ship is parked at Mos Eisley, you'll be heading south instead.
Speed towards the marker. The breakable wall is at the base of a rocky formation and should be visible from the main road. A handy landmark is a Hutt stash house directly across the road. If coming from Wayfar, the wall is on your right; from Mos Eisley, it's on your left.
Blast the wall open to complete the intel objective, then venture inside. Follow the path down a few steps to discover a loot chest. But don't leave just yet! Turn around and look to your left. You'll see more breakable rocks and another weak wall. Use your power module again to clear this secondary obstacle. Behind it lies another hidden chamber, packed with even more valuable loot. Once you've stripped the place clean, simply exit the way you entered.
And there you have it! With the Power Module installed and two successful field tests under your belt, weak walls across the galaxy are no longer obstacles—they're invitations. Who knows what secrets are hidden behind the next cracked facade? Only one way to find out. 😉
